In this presentation, Right Click, Investigate: Open Source Secrets in Plain Sight, candidates will learn various open-source tools to reveal hidden data on webpages. Specifically, Chantale will demonstrate how to obtain Google review timestamps, how to obtain full size images, how to change browser locations, how to remove paywall or authentication windows, and how to capture full webpage screenshots. Chantale will also demonstrate how bad actors reveal passwords and change client-side webpage content. Beneath the surface of a webpage lies an abundance of hidden data - just a right click away. Discover how to leverage the often-overlooked browser Inspector tool to surface hidden data or understand how bad actors can change content that appears authoritative.
Chantale VAHEY is a bilingual (French/English) senior criminal intelligence analyst supporting the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), in Alberta Canada. In addition to her full-time role, she is an established Open Source Intelligence instructor with both the Canadian Police College and the KeyNorth Group. VAHEY specializes in OSINT and telecommunications analysis, advancing complex police investigations through the interpretation of transactional device records. She is the creator of ""Digital Bytes with Chantale"", a weekly OSINT brief delivered to frontline officers and law enforcement personnel, enhancing their digital hygiene and cyber awareness with timely, real-world insights. Her sessions fill auditoriums, sparking curiosity, elevating digital literacy, and empowering officers and analysts with practical tools they can apply immediately in the field.
